What is gender violence?
Violence that is characterized by affecting women, boys, girls and people from the LGBTI community.
Gender violence can be physical, sexual, psychological and economic, among other types.
Physical violence is characterized by burns, beatings, use of weapons, throwing objects, strangulation attempts, among others.
Psychological violence is characterized by behaviors that include devaluation, insults, intimidation or threats.
Economic violence is characterized by deprivation and excessive control of money and other assets, which generates dependence on other people.
These behaviors multiply and mix, generating a situation of extreme vulnerability for the victim and this state makes it difficult for them to react and seek refuge.
If you are a victim of gender violence, you can file a complaint with the prosecutor or the police. It is advisable that you have the assistance of a lawyer.
